Worker Health and Safety Advocate, Public Citizen
Shanna Devine is the worker health and safety advocate for Public Citizen’s Congress Watch division. In that capacity, she plays a leading role managing Congress Watch’s policy and advocacy on occupational health and safety, including whistleblower rights for public and private sector employees.
Devine received her Master of Public Management from the University of Maryland’s School of Public Policy. She completed her B.A. in Critical Theory and Social Justice from Occidental College. Previously, Devine served as Public Citizen’s Access to Medicines Lobbyist, where she advocated for policies to make medicines available worldwide by challenging pharmaceutical industry monopoly power. Prior to joining Public Citizen, Devine was the Legislative Director for the Government Accountability Project, a whistleblower protection and advocacy organization located in Washington, DC.
