The Coalition for Sensible Safeguards (CSS) is congratulating one of its executive committee members, the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), on winning the prestigious 2018 Reed Award in the category of Best Television Ad for a Public Affairs/Issue Advocacy Campaign. NRDC’s award-winning video “Our Loved Ones Should Come First” illustrates how commonsense regulatory safeguards protect our children and families.

The video’s positive depiction of regulation aligns closely with the views held by an overwhelming majority of voters in both parties, in stark contrast with the deregulatory agenda pursued by President Donald Trump, conservatives in Congress and corporate lobbyists. CSS urges reporters to cover how the anti-regulatory and deregulatory measures advancing in Washington would harm the kinds of regular American families portrayed in NRDC’s video.

CSS is an alliance of more than 160 consumer, small business, labor, scientific, research, good government, faith, community, health, environmental and public interest groups – representing millions of Americans. We are joined in the belief that our country’s system of regulatory safeguards should provide a stable framework that secures our quality of life, paves the way for a sound economy and benefits us all.
