The Coalition for Sensible Safeguards is proud of the advances our country has made in balancing the needs of industry with the need to protect all Americans.
We believe that a strong and effective system of regulatory safeguards is essential to innovation, entrepreneurship and widespread economic prosperity. Yet there is much we can do to improve it.
To strengthen our system of safeguards, we need to streamline the process for developing and implementing new public protections, increase transparency at the federal agencies involved in rulemaking, weaken the influence of industry lobbyists trying to rig the rules in their favor, and increase accountability for those who put the public at risk.
The following bills represent constructive steps toward one or more of those goals.
